About Corrupted Whale

The Corrupted Whale is designed as a dynamic, mobile boss stage. A key technical feature is its ability to carry on its back enemy units that are led by the Hierofante, turning it into a transport for an enemy assault. A significant technical challenge was turning the creature's back into a playable level, requiring careful reconciliation of the grid tiles with the whale's animation to ensure stable character movement.

Its defeat is a scripted multi-character event, requiring players to use the ship's cannons in combination with Safiya's wind magic. The death sequence is a significant plot point; upon being defeated, its body explodes, which serves to physically separate main characters from the rest of the battle.
